Cabo Verde took a shock lead when Kevin Pina scored his nation's first-ever World Cup goal, firing in a long-range free-kick.

Maxi Araujo levelled for Uruguay with a diving header on 44 minutes.

Uruguay went in front deep in stoppage time when Agustin Canobbio converted from inside the box.
