Candidates Make Final Push Ahead of Local Election Vote

The 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections are just one day away, and candidates for the Gangwon Superintendent of Education position are dedicating their final hours to campaigning across the province.

Park Hyun-sook, a candidate, began her day by visiting her alma mater, Wonju Bukwon Girls' High School, and Halla University, where she is a professor, to connect with voters. In the afternoon, she plans to continue her campaign in Wonju's Pungmul Market and Innovation City, concluding her election activities with a press conference at the Wonju Education Support Office.

Park appealed to voters, stating, "Please choose someone who sees and solves problems from the children's perspective, not a candidate trapped in political ideology." She earnestly requested, "For the bright future of Gangwon education, I sincerely ask for your clear judgment and wise decision."

Shin Kyung-ho, another candidate, was actively engaged in his final campaign efforts, starting from the National Forensic Service intersection in Wonju and visiting various parts of the city. In the afternoon, he plans to meet voters in the Chuncheon area and hold his concluding rally at the Rodeo intersection in Seoksa-dong.

Shin emphasized the choice facing voters: "This is a time to choose whether to further expand the changes and achievements of Gangwon education, which we have painstakingly established, or to return to the past." He added, "We will not rest on the achievements of the past four years and will continue to strive for the future of our children with even greater responsibility."

Choi Gwang-ik, a candidate, endured a demanding schedule, starting from Dan-gu-dong in Wonju in the morning and visiting various locations including Nambu Market, Taejang-dong, Musil-dong, Heung-eop-myeon, Munmak-eup, and the Enterprise City.

In the afternoon, he planned to meet voters at Wonju Pungmul Market, Terminal Intersection, and the Dan-gye/Musil housing developments, before holding his final rally at the Dangwan housing development.

Choi highlighted the importance of voting, saying, "The ordinary elections we enjoy today are historical achievements built on the sacrifices and participation of countless citizens." He stressed, "The moment you give up on voting, you are also giving up your right to decide the future of our education and our children," urging for voter participation.

Kang Sam-young, a candidate, began his campaign in his hometown of Donghae and is now working to win over voters by visiting Gangneung and Wonju.

In the afternoon, he plans to solidify his resolve at the final concentrated rally to be held at the KBS intersection, starting from HuPyeong intersection in Chuncheon.

Kang shared his thoughts, saying, "During this election period, I have met the citizens of the province with my whole heart and sincerity." He concluded, "Until the very last moment, I will do my best with a humble attitude and wait for the citizens' choice with a humble heart."
