CBSE answer sheet portal delay triggers confusion among Class XII students

NEW DELHI: Several CBSE Class XII students took to social media on May 19 seeking clarity over the activation time of the board’s answer sheet access portal, hours after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that the application window for obtaining evaluated answer scripts would open from May 19. By early morning, students had started posting queries online asking when the link for rechecking and answer book access would become active. One user wrote on social media, “Today is 19.05.26 and time 07:56 hrs, link for answer book is not enabled by CBSE. Please confirm from which time it will be enabled.” The link provided on the CBSE official website (https://cbseacadit.nic.in/pvr/) displays a “service unavailable” message upon access and verification attempts, following complaints raised by students regarding its non-functionality.

Students await activation of answer sheet access link

CBSE had earlier announced that students would be allowed to obtain copies of their evaluated answer scripts between May 19 and May 22 following the declaration of the Class XII board examination results. However, as of the morning hours on May 19, several students reported that the application link was not yet visible or active on the board’s official portal. Students also sought clarification regarding the difference between obtaining answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation. The board has not officially announced a specific activation time for the portal.

Re-evaluation process to begin later

According to CBSE’s notified schedule, the current window is only for obtaining copies of evaluated answer scripts. Applications for verification, discrepancy reporting and re-evaluation will begin later, from May 26 to May 29. The clarification assumes significance as many students on social media appeared to confuse the answer sheet access process with the re-evaluation application stage. Earlier, CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj had said students would first receive copies of their evaluated answer sheets and then decide whether to apply for further verification.

CBSE had acknowledged possibility of evaluation errors

Speaking to ANI after the declaration of results, Bhardwaj had stated that errors may occur while evaluating nearly 1.25 crore answer scripts annually. “We evaluate approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts; there is a possibility that an error may occur somewhere,” he had said. CBSE has stated that students identifying discrepancies after reviewing their evaluated answer sheets may apply for correction or re-evaluation during the second application window. The board has also clarified that revised marks after verification may either increase or decrease depending on the findings of the expert panel.
