The CBSE re-evaluation portal found itself under siege as cybercriminals unleashed a barrage of attacks, flooding the system with millions of unauthorized access attempts. Thankfully, the portal remained functional, and countless students were able to file their re-evaluation applications without a hitch.

The CBSE re-evaluation portal came under a major cyberattack, with malicious actors generating nearly 1.5 million hits in just two minutes in an apparent denial-of-service attempt, according to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The board also reported more than 100,000 attempts at unauthorised file access during the attack, describing the incident as part of a broader barrage of cyber threats targeting the platform while thousands of students were submitting re-evaluation applications.

Despite the attempted disruption, CBSE said the portal remained operational and continued to handle significant traffic throughout the day. As of 3:00 PM, the platform was supporting over 8,000 concurrent users, while more than 16,000 students had successfully completed their submissions.

CBSE said it had also implemented several improvements to the portal based on student feedback, including extending session time limits to streamline the application process. The board added that its technical teams remain on high alert to safeguard services and ensure uninterrupted access for students.
