Some Chinese mobile game players discovered that social functions were completely unusable today (4th), and they believe it is 'because of the Gaokao,' not 'the 37th anniversary of the June Fourth Tiananmen Square incident' and CCP's speech control. Today (4th) marks the 37th anniversary of the 'June Fourth Tiananmen Square incident.' Overseas Chinese writer Li Ying shared on her X account 'Teacher Li is not Teacher Li' this morning that many popular mobile games in China, including Honor of Kings, Love and Deep Space, Justice, and Identity V, have entered maintenance mode. The Chinese official narrative consistently points to the upcoming Gaokao (China's college entrance examination) as the reason for 'game maintenance,' completely avoiding any mention of the 'June Fourth Tiananmen Square incident.'

Li Ying pointed out that on June 3rd, in response to the 1989 Tiananmen Square June Fourth incident, almost all major domestic mobile games were 'silenced.' This included Honor of Kings, Clash Royale, Justice, Identity V, Oubi Island, Bullet Storm, Lokicraft, and Fantasy Westward Journey. Many games entered maintenance mode, strictly limiting social functions such as personal profile and avatar modification, comment functions, sharing functions, voice-to-text, live streaming functions, and decoration functions.

In response, some netizens added, 'Some card names in the DL China server were also changed (numbers 37 and 64 were deleted, and 'Flower Baroness' had the word 'Flower' modified).'

Consequently, some netizens sarcastically commented, 'This is indirectly educating the public about the history of June Fourth,' 'It's also an official June Fourth commemoration day! Another form of silence, mourning!', 'Honestly, if it weren't for these guys going crazy every year and pulling some stunts, I wouldn't even remember 6.4,' and some netizens pointed out, 'The reason given uniformly within China is for the Gaokao candidates.' Other netizens ironically remarked, 'With the CCP's vigilance towards June Fourth, I don't believe the new generation won't know about June Fourth.'

Five years after the COVID-19 pandemic, the author reflects on the global response, highlighting China's initial cover-up and the kindness shown by countries like Japan, the US, and European nations through vaccine donations. The article contrasts the memory of vaccine shortages and political disputes with the altruism of pharmaceutical companies and diplomatic efforts, particularly noting Japan's vaccine delivery on June 4th, the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre.
