In a statement, police said the 40-year-old man was arrested on Friday and had since been charged with indecent touching or act with a child under 16 and grooming to engage in sexual activity.
NT Police Acting Commander Kirk Pennuto said the Child Abuse Taskforce was continuing to investigate the matter.
"Including whether there is any further alleged offending linked to the man," he said.
“Police have notified SAFE NT regarding the man's OCHRE Card.
"It is understood he has been stood down from his employment while the investigation continues.”
The man was refused bail and is set to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Monday.
