知名遊戲公司Gearbox Software創辦人Randy Pitchford近日在X（前身推特）分享一段令人匪夷所思的「趣聞」。他表示，一名朋友在加勒比海聖馬丁島附近潛水時，意外在海底發現一支智慧手錶。令人驚訝的是，這支手錶很可能就是Google尚未發表的Pixel Watch 5。

從他公開的照片來看，手錶背面清楚印有「Google」與「Pixel Watch 5」字樣。雖然裝置當時處於低耗電模式，電量不足以正常開機，但仍能透過備用電力顯示正確時間，顯示這支手錶應該仍具備正常運作能力。
由於Google至今尚未公開Pixel Watch 5，因此外界普遍猜測，這很可能是一款測試中的原型機。過去未發表產品的原型機，多半是在街頭、咖啡廳或其他公共場所被拍到，這次卻是在海底被撿獲，可說是前所未見的案例。
