경북도와 구미시는 소담스퀘어 운영을 시작하면 경북지역 소상공인들이 라이브커머스 방송과 제품 홍보 콘텐츠 제작 등에서 지원받게 돼 지역 농ㆍ특산물과 소상공인 제품의 온라인 유통 경쟁력이 강화될 것으로 기대한다.
