Iran says consensus reached with US on many issues, but warns against expecting imminent deal

Iran stated today that Iran and the United States are in consultations regarding an agreement to end the wars in the Middle East, and consensus has been reached on many issues. However, Iran also warned that this does not mean an agreement is imminent.

According to Agence France-Presse, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said at a regular press conference on the 25th, "It can be said that we have reached consensus on most of the issues discussed, but no one can assert that this means an agreement is about to be signed."

In addition to emphasizing that the agreement is not necessarily signed quickly, Baqaei also accused the United States of having an inconsistent stance.

Notably, US Secretary of State Blinken also stated that if Iran is unwilling to reach a good agreement with the United States, the US will adopt "another way" to respond.

Reuters reported that Blinken told reporters in New Delhi, India on the 25th that the US will give full opportunities for diplomatic negotiations but does not rule out "other alternative options."

Furthermore, US President Trump stated on "Truth Social" on the 24th that he has instructed US representatives not to rush into an agreement with Iran and emphasized the lifting of the US blockade on the Strait of Hormuz before the agreement is signed.
