The center-right united behind Marcello Scurria, an administrative lawyer and former sub-commissioner for recovery in 2023: he was supported by Partecipazione-Marcello Scurria sindaco per Messina, Forza Italia, Fratelli d'Italia, Noi Moderati, Lega, Popolari e autonomisti and Grande Sicilia, Dc Pri Animalisti.
The progressive camp also found a single name, converging on Antonella Russo, a municipal councilor indicated by the Democratic Party: she was supported by the Democratic Party list and the M5s-Controcorrente list.
