MS Dhoni's Future in Focus as CSK Host SRH in Crucial IPL Clash

The MA Chidambaram Stadium is set for its last match of IPL 2026 as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 63 on Monday. While playoff qualification hangs in the balance, the primary spotlight is firmly fixed on MS Dhoni. Will he play in what could be the last match for the legend in Chennai? Nobody knows. As Dhoni has done all season, he came to training, faced some throwdowns and spin bowling and he left. CSK need to win both of their remaining games to make the playoffs. Two wins in their final two games will take them to 16 points which should be enough to qualify even though the final outcome would depend on other results also. CSK are coming off a loss against LSG where their bowling was dismantled by Mitchell Marsh’s power hitting. Spencer Johnson's addition to their bowling line-up gives the bowling group more depth, which they will need against SRH's intimidating top 4. The focus will once again be on the batting lineup, as CSK desperately need runs from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dewald Brevis in particular. The South African has only managed 99 runs in six innings. SRH's run has been pretty similar to the five-time champions. They lost three of their first four games and incidentally, their win over CSK at home is what has kept them above in the points table. Pat Cummins’s team are coming off a week long break and their last outing in Ahmedabad was a shocker; they were bundled out for just 86. They would hope that it was a one-off performance as another repeat will cause a huge impact on the NRR. Given how the points table has currently shaped up, this could be the deciding factor in the end.
