2일 법조계에 따르면 서울서부지검 형사1부(황수연 부장검사)는 주씨의 사생활 의혹을 보도한 기자 최모씨를 지난달 12일 정보통신망법상 명예훼손 혐의로 불구속 기소했다.

최씨는 지난해 6월 '주학년이 일본 성인비디오(AV) 배우 출신 연예인과 성매매를 했다'며 '성매매를 부인하던 주학년은 뒤늦게 이를 시인했다'는 내용의 기사를 게재한 혐의를 받는다.

사생활 논란이 불거지자 당시 주씨의 소속사 원헌드레드는 주씨의 팀 탈퇴와 전속계약 해지를 알렸다.

이에 주씨는 "아무런 근거 없이 저를 성범죄자로 보도한 기자와 언론사에 끝까지 책임을 물을 것"이라며 "허위 보도를 한 기자를 고소했다"고 밝혔다.
