SEOUL, June 2 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Heavy Industries Co., a major South Korean shipbuilder, said Tuesday it has secured a 4.33 trillion-won (US$2.85 billion) contract to build a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility.
In a regulatory filing, Samsung Heavy said it signed the deal with an undisclosed North American client and is scheduled to deliver the facility by July 2030.
With the latest order, the shipbuilder has secured contracts worth a combined US$8.3 billion to build 28 ships so far this year.
