2026年第26屆亞洲物理奧林匹亞競賽由韓國舉辦，今年共27個國家（地區）、209名參賽學生同場較勁。
我國代表隊由國內大學10多名教授組成輔導團隊負責培訓，歷經初選、複選、決選及賽前集訓4階段，從全國166所學校共2657名學生中選出8名學生代表參賽，由台灣師範大學教授陳傳仁及台灣大學退休教授蔡尚芳擔任領隊，台灣師範大學退休教授賈至達及教授傅祖怡隨隊協助競賽試題翻譯及成績仲裁等工作。
我國代表團於5月17日飛往韓國釜山參賽，8名學生共獲得6金、2銀佳績，國際排名為第3名（以學生競賽總成績計算），整體表現亮眼，預定5月28日返抵國門。
教育部表示，為獎勵學生優異表現，訂有「參加國際數理學科奧林匹亞競賽及國際科學展覽成績優良學生升學優待辦法」，獲得本項競賽金、銀、銅牌獎者，可保送大學各本學系或推薦入大學各學系。另於競賽獲金牌及銀牌獎者，分別可獲得頒10萬元及5萬元獎學金，但同一年度獲得同一學科或不同學科2種以上獎項者，擇最高獎額辦理。
國教署表示，將持續選、培訓優秀學生參與競賽，拓展其國際視野，促進國際交流，為國家培育更多物理人才。
