It came after Iran and Pakistan earlier submitted a revised proposal to the US to end the war in the Middle East and reopen the strait.
Two Pakistani sources familiar with the negotiations told Reuters on Saturday, local time, that they expected a response to the proposal by the following day.
Mr Trump is believed to have called leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, Türkiye and Pakistan, according to Reuters.
