The film, adapted from his Tamil hit 'Oru Kaidhiyin Diary', starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role alongside Sridevi, Jaya Prada, and Anupam Kher. Bhagyaraj later directed Hindi films such as 'Mr. 'Bechara' and 'Papa the Great. Several of his Tamil blockbusters were remade in Hindi.
