Bluesky has introduced group chat functionality, allowing up to 50 users to interact privately. This feature aims to enhance community focus and compete with rivals like X, which recently launched its own chat app.

The author laments the loss of Twitter's real-time, communal experience for live sports events, noting that current platforms like X, Threads, and Bluesky fail to replicate it, compounded by negative "vibes" surrounding the upcoming World Cup.

Bluesky is introducing "communities," smaller, customizable spaces for users to connect over shared interests, built on the AT Protocol. The feature, inspired by Reddit, will offer public, invite-only, and private options, with each community having its own feed and a URL for custom experiences.

Bluesky, initially a rival to X, is shifting its strategy to emulate Reddit's community forum model rather than competing directly. COO Rose Wang stated the platform aims to be a discovery mechanism, moving away from the 'public square' feed style.

Well, even by the standards of the soap opera that is the world football’s equivalent of the Borgias, it’s been chaotic. On Thursday a fight with Aurélien Tchouaméni at Valdebebas left Fede Valverde bleeding and with what a club communique described as “craniofacial trauma”. Kylian Mbappe is missing, too, his popularity rating down at absolute zero. What’s worse is that Barcelona can clinch a second successive Liga title with a draw. Continue reading...
