Oldest Building on Franz Josef Land Archipelago Undergoing Conservation

Experts from the Russian Arctic National Park have reinforced the "Eira Lodge," the oldest building on Franz Josef Land, built in 1881. The structure was strengthened to withstand snow, and temporary repairs were made to a wall damaged by a polar bear. The lodge, a historical site with signatures from various explorers, is being conserved as part of a project that may include it in future Arctic tourist routes.
