OpenAI CEO Altman Accuses Anthropic of Using 'Fear-Based Marketing' for Claude Mythos
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has accused rival Anthropic of using fear-based marketing to restrict access to its powerful Claude Mythos AI model, suggesting the strategy aims to keep AI in the hands of a smaller group. Speaking on the Core Memory podcast, Altman compared the marketing to selling 'bomb shelters' while warning that such rhetoric may increase as AI capabilities improve. Anthropic's Claude Mythos, which can autonomously identify software vulnerabilities and execute complex cyber operations, is currently distributed only to select companies through its restricted Project Glasswing program.
