Google is investing approximately $75 million in indie film studio A24 to collaborate on AI tools for film production and distribution. The initiative aims to develop technologies that support filmmakers and preserve creative control, addressing concerns about generative AI.
Innovative Dreams, a new production services company backed by Amazon Web Services and AI startup Luma, launches with hybrid tools combining virtual production, motion capture and AI to significantly cut film and TV production costs and time. The company, founded by Jon Erwin, uses LED walls and AI tools including Luma, Google's Nano Banana and Bytedance's SeeDream to create films without leaving a soundstage. Its first project is "The Old Stories: Moses" starring Ben Kingsley, shot in one week instead of the traditional five to six weeks.
