Sir Keir Starmer Apologises for Historical Forced Adoptions in England and Wales
Sir Keir Starmer has apologised on behalf of the British state for its role in historical forced adoptions in England and Wales, where an estimated 185,000 babies were taken from unmarried mothers between the 1950s and 1970s. He called the practice a "stain on our history" and announced a £4 million support package.
