Milky Way Flipped on its Side After Collision with Dwarf Galaxy 10 Billion Years Ago
Astronomers found evidence that the Milky Way's disc was flipped over 90 degrees about 10 billion years ago after a head-on collision with a dwarf galaxy called the Gaia Sausage, long before the solar system formed.
