
France and Chad move to restore military cooperation after a year and a half of separation
France and Chad are working to re-establish military cooperation, with Paris aiming to deploy troops by January 30, 2025. This move follows Chad's expulsion of French soldiers 18 months ago, as President Mahamat Idriss Déby seeks a more discreet and mutually beneficial partnership, dissatisfied with alternative partners like the UAE, Turkey, and Russia.
