Pavel Talankin, co-director of best documentary winner Mr Nobody Against Putin, was forced by TSA to check his Academy Award on a flight from JFK to Frankfurt. The Oscar was sent to the cargo hold and never arrived in Germany. After his co-director David Borenstein announced the loss on social media, Lufthansa located the missing statuette two days later.
