British Soldiers' Children in Kenya Win Paternity Cases Through DNA Testing

A UK solicitor and genetics professor have used DNA testing and commercial genealogy databases to confirm paternity for 12 children born to British soldiers at a military base in Nanyuki, Kenya. The children, some of whom were told their fathers were dead, can now register for British citizenship and receive child support. Nearly 100 documented cases exist, with the British Army Training Unit in Kenya (Batuk) operational since 1964.
