Puyuma wood carving recognized as important traditional craft, artist named 'Living National Treasure'

The Ministry of Culture officially designated Puyuma 'tu’tu’ wood carving' as an important traditional craft. Woodcarver Hagoo (Chen Wen-sheng), chief of Jianhe Village, was recognized as a 'Living National Treasure'. Despite budget cuts affecting the award ceremony, Hagoo remains dedicated to his craft and emphasizes the importance of passing it on to younger generations.
