Russian Helicopters has begun flight trials of its import-substituted Ka-226T helicopter, now equipped with the domestic VK-650V engine developed by United Engine Corporation. This marks a significant step towards technological independence for the Russian aircraft industry.
Russian Helicopters presented its import-substituted Mi-171A3 helicopter at the 10th Russia-China Expo in Harbin. The helicopter, designed for various missions including offshore operations and search and rescue, is fully Russian-made and certified for operation in China. China has shown particular interest in the aircraft.
Russian Helicopters (Rostec) has completed additional import-substituting Mi-171A3 helicopter tests in Yakutia at temperatures down to -50°C. Specialists conducted 66 flights and 22 ground tests confirming stable operation of all systems. Results have been submitted to Rosaviatsiya for certification amendments, expanding the aircraft's operational temperature range for use in the Russian Arctic and Far East during winter.
