Pastor of Largest US Methodist Church Launches Senate Campaign in Kansas

Rev. Adam Hamilton, pastor of the largest United Methodist Church in the U.S., announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination to the U.S. Senate from Kansas. The 61-year-old Hamilton, who has built Church of the Resurrection in the Kansas City area over 35 years with about 22,000 members, enters a race against incumbent Republican Roger Marshall in a traditionally Republican state where the GOP's Senate majority appears increasingly vulnerable.
