Over a Third of UK HR Decision-Makers Report Pushback Against EDI Initiatives in Past Year

A YouGov poll for Working Chance found over a third of 565 HR decision-makers surveyed faced pushback against EDI initiatives in the past year, with resistance rising. The charity warns this threatens inclusive hiring for people with criminal convictions, who face significant employment barriers. The findings coincide with a Ministry of Justice conference addressing employer confidence gaps in recruiting people with convictions, while employment remains the strongest protective factor against reoffending costing the UK £18bn-£23bn annually.
