Varma resigned before the inquiry committee's report could be tabled in Parliament. Experts argue that a resigned judge cannot be impeached, making the tabling of the report a mere formality.
A committee headed by SC judge Aravind Kumar submitted its report on corruption allegations against Allahabad HC judge Yashwant Varma to LS Speaker Om Birla. Varma resigned last month, but Parliament may consider the report for further action.
