Burger King Launches 'Whopper Guarantee' and New Customer Service Role

Burger King has introduced a “Whopper guarantee,” offering a free burger for people who didn’t have it their way.

After listening to customers’ feedback, the fast food joint announced Monday that it will remake any Whopper that does not meet expectations.

“The Whopper is the brand's most beloved item, and Guests expect to have it served hot, and exactly the way they ordered it,” a company press release read.

Customers who are unsatisfied with their burger can scan a QR code found inside their Whopper box to receive a six-digit code. With the code, customers can redeem another Whopper free of charge during their next visit.

The burger chain is also continuing to shake up its staff with a “Your Way Champion” role, which will serve as a point person for customer complaints inside restaurants.

“One thing Burger King heard consistently from Guests was that they wanted someone in the restaurant who could quickly make things right when needed,” the release read.

The “Your Way Champion,” who will have their own distinct uniform, will welcome customers, ensure orders are properly prepared and correct any restaurant wrongs.

“When Guests choose us, they expect high-quality food, orders made the way they asked, and a team that's there when they need us,” Burger King President Tom Curtis said in a statement.

“That's what these changes are about. We're raising the standard in our restaurants, so every Guest feels like they made the right choice."

The changes are in response to an initiative launched in February, where customers could call or text Curtis to give feedback on their Burger King experiences.

Burger King said they received thousands of responses across the country.

Burger King has been trying to speed up sales growth through its multi-year “Reclaim the Flame” plan, which includes investing up to $700 million through the end of 2028. The investments fund advertising, remodels, restaurant technology and kitchen equipment.

In the first fiscal quarter of the year, Burger King saw sales increase 5.8 percent.
