China Implements Zero-Tariff Policy for 53 African Nations, Boosting Trade and Cooperation

Miao Deyu stated that the comprehensive implementation of zero tariffs for 53 African countries in diplomatic relations embodies President Xi Jinping's policy of sincerity, real results, affinity, and good faith towards Africa and the correct view of interests and principles. It opens new channels for China-Africa cooperation in the new era, injects new momentum into building a China-Africa community with a shared future for all weather, and provides valuable stability to a turbulent world. Since the implementation of zero tariffs, positive effects have been steadily released, opening a new window of opportunity for expanding China-Africa trade, especially for African exports to China. Both sides should work together to ensure that the dividends of zero tariffs and development achievements benefit the people of China and Africa. They should adhere to systematic empowerment to promote the high-quality upgrading of China-Africa industrial chain cooperation and enhance Africa's endogenous development momentum. They should adhere to inclusiveness and shared prosperity to promote the prosperity and revitalization of the Global South and jointly build a human community with a shared future.

Kenyan Ambassador to China Bethwel A. Kiplagat and representatives of African participants attending the zero-tariff special training course in China delivered speeches. They highly praised China's leading role in building an open and inclusive world trade system and believed that zero tariffs will strongly drive African exports, investment, and infrastructure construction, promoting common development and prosperity between Africa and China.

The seminar was co-hosted by the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Research Center for the Community of Shared Future.
