吉利はこの日、新たなHVシステム「i―HEV」を開発し、人工知能（AI）を活用して、気候や交通状況などに応じた効率的な走行を実現したと発表した。
エンジンの熱効率は48・41％と世界最高水準で、テストコースでの走行ではガソリン1リットル当たり45キロを記録してトヨタ自動車のHV「プリウス」を上回ったと強調。ギネス世界記録認定員による授与式も行われた。
吉利は今後、売れ筋のセダンやスポーツタイプ多目的車（SUV）など複数の主力車両に順次搭載する方針だ。
第1弾となるセダン「星端」の価格は、ガソリン車とほぼ変わらない10万元（約230万円）以下。
