SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- KB Financial Group said Thursday its net profit spiked nearly 15 percent in the second quarter of the year from a year earlier to reach an all-time high, driven by an increase in both interest income and non-interest income.

Operating income for the April-June period was 2.71 trillion won, up 27.2 percent from a year ago, and revenue rose 31.2 percent to 31.75 trillion won.
Net profit of the flagship unit, KB Kookmin Bank, totaled 1.12 trillion won in the second quarter, down 3.2 percent from a year earlier, due mainly to increased loan-loss reserve last year.
