Brodie Kemp splits the middle! Eight straight for the Blues

Good kicking is good footy, and this is very good footy by Carlton. Cripps, Walsh and Hewett sliced them up out of the middle and found Kemp on the lead. Brodie did the rest.

This is considerably better even than last week from Carlton. They look a damn good side here.

This time it was a Carlton player making a poor decision and coughing up the ball in a dangerous area. The ball was turned over in the middle of the ground and from there Port were out,

So slick out of congestion on one side of the field by the Blues, and then lovely ball use by foot to move it into space on the other side. Hayward climbs up Aliir's back to take the mark and threads the needle with his set shot.

This is quite something for the Blues now.

Patrick Cripps boots another one for Carlton

Now things are getting concerning for Port. The skipper has floated forward to take a relatively simple mark and kick a relatively simple goal.

Big holes in the Port defence. Some worries in the box for sure.

'There's still more in the tank': Scott Pendlebury reflects on game 433

Scott Pendlebury spoke on the ground after the game, reflecting on the week, the game, his career and his future.

"We tried to embrace the week, but I reckon toward the end I started to feel the week catching up.

"I nearly got a bit emotional running up the race seeing every face I've crossed path with since 2006. My kids, my family. It was really special for me."

Bright stuff from Carlton, who are cracking in and making the most of their entries when they go forward. They have lost Matt Carroll for the night though. He's out with a knee injury.

Port weren't horrible, but just made a few more errors in costly positions on the ground. The Blues, it seems, are in a punishing mood.

George Hewett extends the Carlton lead

Fair to say he bought that high tackle free kick, the textbook little drop and slide which they said they weren't going to pay anymore. In fairness he got to the ball first and just stayed lower than the tackler.

Five straight in front of goal for the Blues so far. They're loving this new lease on life.

Jason Horne-Francis has his second to settle the Power

He's kicked two and coughed one up the other with a poor turnover. Hard to keep JHF out of the game.

Clever kick from Drew to find Horne-Francis in a paddock inside 50. Again, probably need to keep an eye on him in those positions.

This is very encouraging now from the Blues. They're using the ball well but their pressure is very high and they are sweating on turnovers.

And they're taking their chances. Walsh on the run from 40 was all class there.

Ison sets up another one on the boundary, beautiful work to sell the dummy on Ratugolea. His kick to Byrne was a beauty too, and the small forward did the rest.

Fantastic work from Harry Dean in defence to turn the ball over, and then Cripps's vision to square the ball to a dangerous spot was good too.

McGovern marked on the lead and nailed his set shot from long range. Carlton on the board.

Not sure you can leave Horne-Francis in that much space out the back of the forward-50 stoppage. If you do, he might win the ball and snap a goal.

It's INXS time as the rain drizzles down on Port Adelaide and Carlton. It's a must-win for the Power really, but inspired by interim coach Josh Fraser perhaps the Blues can fire off an upset.

But wait, there's more! Honestly I think we're all pretty cooked after the three wild games we've had so far today, but no time for a water break just yet because we're off to Adelaide Oval.

No late changes for Port or Carlton.

Three changes each made during the week though. Port brought in Josh Lai, Todd Marshall and Jacob Wehr for Dante Visentini, Lachie Jones and Will Lorenz while Carlton lost Jacob Weitering, Ollie Hollands and Zac Williams and replaced them with Wade Derksen, Flynn Young and Talor Byrne.

FT: The Pies hang on for Pendles! Collingwood by 10

They've done it. It wasn't pretty, and boy was it costly, but Collingwood have won in Scott Pendlebury's 433rd game.

But boy did they have to work for it, and you could argue that they have absolutely gotten away with one there. The Eagles won almost every stat that matters and were so impressive for such a young team, but a few little moments let them down in what proved to be an incredibly tight game. They're on the right track with some very talented young players, that much is clear.

Pendlebury had 20 touches and didn't do a whole lot to be honest, but he was on the winning side and played his part. Nick Daicos was up and down but had telling moments, and I thought there were spells from Darcy Cameron and Dan McStay which really made a difference.

The bad news? A serious injury to Jamie Elliott and another injury to Darcy Moore. Those will be impactful blows as Collingwood's season continues, but at least the four points have been banked.

I bet that will be a bit of a relief for the Pies. On to next week and game 434.

Great tackle from Waterman on Maynard to force the turnover, and then Duursma's kick to Shanahan was a beauty. Do they still believe?

Jamie Elliott is being stretchered off

Scott Pendlebury, in his milestone game, has not carried himself particularly well here. No doubt he is feeling for his great mate Elliott and emotions are running high, but to blame the opponent for that injury as he did is not fair.

It's a horrible shame for Elliott though, and for Collingwood. He looks crestfallen as he is driven from the field. Not the ending anyone had hoped for here.
