Désiré Doué is on, and he just charged into the area, and his shot was saved.

Everyone could sense that coming, with Olise and Mbappé the most threatening, and the captain gets his golden boot campaign back on track with that one.

The whistle goes to end a frenetic, glorious, intense half of football!

France could have had four or five in that 45 minutes, and good luck, more than good defence, helped the Swedes keep a clean sheet until Kylian Mbappé's brilliant curler in the final minutes before the break.

Mbappé had earlier had a goal ruled out for offside. He and Michael Olise had both cannoned shots off the woodwork — Olise's a stunning scissor-kick that had the keeper beaten.

Sweden will have to come out firing in the second half, which will only risk a goal avalanche from Les Bleus.
