ただ、焔摩天像を現在どこに保管しているかについて、呉支所は取材に対して「言えない」としている。
呉支所では過去、国の補助金を受けるために地権者との協議録を偽造していた。その後の調査で、呉支所を含む県の建設事務所で64件の文書偽造が見つかり、国から補助金約5千万円を不正に受け取っていたことがわかっている。
