澎湖縣家畜疾病防治所今（24）日在馬公市民代表會舊址，辦理流浪動物認養推廣活動，邀請馬公市長黃健忠擔任動保大使，與民眾共同關心流浪動物議題。現場除設置犬貓認養互動區外，也同步辦理犬貓絕育、晶片登記及責任飼養宣導，希望提升社會對流浪動物問題的重視。
黃健忠表示，流浪動物問題與市民日常生活密切相關，不只是動物保護議題，也涉及社區環境、公共安全與飼主責任觀念。尤其近年遊蕩犬隻問題，時常引發民眾關心，包含追車、群聚及環境衛生等情形，若僅依靠收容並非長久之計，仍須從認養、絕育及責任飼養觀念共同推動。
黃健忠進一步指出，許多收容所內的米克斯犬，其實健康、親人且具陪伴性，希望更多民眾願意以認養代替購買，給流浪犬貓重新被照顧的機會，也減少棄養情形。流浪動物問題無法靠單一單位處理，仍需要政府、飼主與社會共同建立正確觀念。
澎湖縣政府農漁局長陳高樑表示，縣府近年持續編列犬貓絕育補助經費，並推動認養推廣及責任飼養教育，希望透過源頭減量方式，逐步降低遊蕩犬貓數量，改善人犬衝突及衍生問題。
澎湖縣家畜疾病防治所所長吳靜芷指出，目前位於烏崁的流浪動物收容中心收容量已接近飽和，截至5月21日止共收容313隻犬隻、10隻貓咪及2隻兔子，其中犬隻大多為米克斯犬。除持續辦理認養媒合外，目前所有自收容中心認養出去的犬貓，也都必須完成絕育，希望從源頭減少野外繁殖與流浪情形。
