Romain Grosjean Faces Peta Criticism Over Bird Strike Comments at Indianapolis 500 Test
French racing driver Romain Grosjean has drawn criticism from animal rights group Peta for what they called 'flippant' comments after striking a bird during testing for the Indianapolis 500 at around 230 mph. Grosjean described graphic details of the incident, including blood on his race suit and bird pieces on the rollbar. Peta's UK senior vice-president accused the 40-year-old of lacking empathy, noting birds have feelings and are not replaceable like his car equipment.
