Man Arrested After Hammer Attack on Teenagers in Western Tokyo

A 44-year-old man, Teruyuki Takabayashi, was arrested in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture on Friday following a manhunt for allegedly attacking a 17-year-old high school student with a hammer in Fussa, western Tokyo. The attack occurred between 7:15am and 7:25am on Wednesday, when the suspect allegedly attacked a group of seven teenagers near a restaurant after his mother asked them to be quiet. Another student and three police officers were also injured. The suspect told police he did not have the intent to murder.
