The Tripura High Court has dismissed a petition by a woman seeking family pension after her father's death, ruling that eligibility must exist at the time of the pensioner's death. The applicant, who lived with her father for over 40 years after her husband went missing, filed for divorce in 2021—three years after her father died in 2018. The court held that at the time of her father's death, she was a married daughter separated from her husband, not a divorced daughter, and the Revised Pension Rules 2017 do not cover her case.
