Donnie Freeman Commits to St. John's After Kentucky Visit, Picks Red Storm Over Wildcats
Donnie Freeman, a top-10 recruit from the 2024 high school class and former Syracuse forward, committed to St. John's on Monday, choosing the Red Storm over Kentucky. The 6-foot-9 versatile forward averaged 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds as a sophomore, earning honorable mention All-ACC honors. The Washington, D.C., native suffered foot injuries during his Syracuse career but recovered to become one of the best players remaining in the transfer portal. Rick Pitino beat out his former player Mark Pope for the commitment, and Freeman will immediately step into St. John's starting frontcourt.
