Mali's transitional government Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maiga stated that radical groups launched coordinated attacks on April 25 in about 20 cities and towns, attempting to seize power and end the transition period. Government forces neutralized hundreds of terrorists. The attacks came as Colonel Assimi Goita, who rose to power through two military coups since 2020, has been approved to lead until at least 2030.
