It is planned to create a national satellite center in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. First Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexey Medvedev told a Lenta.ru correspondent about this at a press conference as part of a press tour along popular science routes included in the initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology.

“We hope to create a national satellite center based on the competencies that already exist in the region, as well as attract teams of specialists from all over the country. In particular, the Reshetnev enterprise is located on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation - Lenta.ru note), which created two thirds of the Russian satellites that are in orbit today,” Medvedev said.

According to Lenta.ru's interlocutor, Reshetnev later became a partner of Bureau 1440, a Russian aerospace company that creates and deploys satellite communications infrastructure in low orbit.

The region has a program for the relocation of scientists from all over Russia.
