The LDPR proposed extending the work of kindergartens until 20:00

MOSCOW, September 10 - RIA Novosti. The head of the LDPR deputy association in the Moscow City Duma, Maria Voropaeva, proposed extending the work of Russian kindergartens until eight o’clock in the evening.

RIA Novosti has a corresponding appeal addressed to the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov.

“I ask you, dear Sergei Sergeevich, to consider the issue of developing unified federal standards for state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments, aimed at unifying the operating hours of municipal preschool educational organizations with the mandatory provision of children staying until 20.00... taking into account the positive experience of the pilot regions and the president’s order to disseminate best practices in this area,” the document says.

As Voropaeva noted in the letter, she receives requests from citizens reporting that in many regions kindergartens often close their work at 17.00 or 18.00.

“Given the modern rhythm of life and the standard work schedule of most organizations, which ends at 18.00–19.00, parents do not have the physical ability to arrive at the preschool institution on time to pick up their child,” she added.
