Russian security forces reported the encirclement of 2,000 Ukrainian troops near Volchansk

A group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) numbering 2,000 people was surrounded near Volchansk in the Kharkov region. Russian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti about this.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces fell into the Volchansky Cauldron, having lost the villages of Vasilevka, Blagodatnoye, Dolzhanka and Sliznevo. Surrounded by about 2000 bayonets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Among them are Ukrainian motorized riflemen from the 159th and 22nd brigades, units of Ukrainian border guards from the 1st and 15th border detachments,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to a representative of the security forces, the situation in which Ukrainian military personnel find themselves is extremely difficult; it is expected that they may try to break through.
