The film was originally scheduled to be released on Christmas Eve in Taiwan this year, but it has now been rescheduled to January next year to hit the winter holiday and Spring Festival schedule.

"Wild Game: The Real World" is the latest work following "Wild Game: The Jungle Book" in 2017 and "Wild Game: Level Up" in 2019. It is also the reboot and sequel to the 1995 "Wild Game" starring the late actor Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst. The new series changes the original board game into a video game, describing a group of teenagers who enter the game world and transform into characters played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, and embark on a thrilling and hilarious adventure.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on December 11, but was later adjusted to the Christmas New Year's Eve release on December 23. It was originally expected to be released on December 18 immediately after "Dune: Part 3" and "Avengers: Doomsday" (collectively known as "Dune"), joining the year-end blockbuster war. However, Sony Pictures has changed the release date according to the trailer information on YouTube, from the original December 23 to January 27, 2027, officially moving to the winter holiday and Spring Festival schedule to capture the Lunar New Year movie market.
