Iran has recently continued to intensify its crackdown on dissidents. A 33-year-old female blogger, Soda Ebrahimi Shamsabadi, was charged with insulting the Supreme Leader, endangering national security, and working for a hostile government for criticizing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamini on the Internet and providing photos of sensitive events to foreign media. She was recently sentenced to death.

Comprehensive reports from "Iran International" and other foreign media pointed out that during the large-scale anti-government demonstrations in Iran earlier this year, Sansa Badi repeatedly criticized the authorities' repressive actions through social platforms and publicly supported the protestors. She was later arrested by local police in March this year for providing photos of the missile attack scene to overseas Persian-language media and was detained in Bandar Abbas Prison.
