Trump announced his desire to hold a new summit with Putin

During the event, the American leader was asked whether a new summit with the Russian President should be expected. Answering this question, Trump insisted that the summit would definitely take place. In his opinion, it will make sense when the parties are ready to conclude a peace deal.

The head of the White House also said that he regularly contacts both Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. In his opinion, they can end the conflict in Ukraine, and sooner or later they will do so.

Washington seeks to maintain good relations with Moscow, Trump said

The United States does not want its relations with Russia to deteriorate. According to Trump, cooperation between Moscow and Washington can have a positive impact on business. During his speech, the American leader clarified that he also expects to maintain relations with Ukraine and the rest of the world.

At the same time, Trump has previously said that he wants to get along with everyone. On August 31, he explained this desire for Russia’s invitation to a meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of countries (G20) in Asheville, North Carolina. The US President then claimed that one of the reasons for his success was that he was on good terms with everyone.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also spoke about the need to maintain dialogue with Russia, despite differences. “The United States needs to be able to communicate with Russia from a very practical point of view - they have the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world,” the diplomat explained.

The Kremlin does not see specifics on intensifying US mediation on Ukraine
