St. PETERSBURG, June 4 - RIA Novosti. Supplies of non-resource, non-energy products to Thailand from Russia increased by almost 40% in 2025, reports the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group).
The greatest demand is observed for goods of metallurgy and precious metals, mechanical engineering and the chemical industry, light and food industries.
This was announced by the General Director of the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) Veronika Nikishina as part of the Russia-Thailand business dialogue on the sidelines of SPIEF-2026.
“For Russia, Thailand is an important and oldest partner in Southeast Asia. Last year, we recorded the largest growth in exports over the past five years – by almost a third, and supplies of non-raw materials, non-energy products increased by almost 40%,” Nikishina noted.
According to her, to support Russian companies in Thailand, REC is actively developing its own infrastructure and expanding the range of available tools.
Thus, in 2025, REC opened a representative office in Thailand, which helps exporters enter the local market. Among the services offered are analysis of promising niches and logistics routes, product certification and search for buyers, as well as providing insurance, lending and organizing international payments.
An important element of this system is financial support provided by the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (Exar) and Roseximbank.
This ecosystem is complemented by tools for promoting Russian products on the Thai market. To sell and distribute products in Thailand, there is a national store “Made in Russia”, where products that have been certified in Thailand are presented. The REC plans to expand the assortment of the national store, as well as open a demonstration and tasting pavilion.
In-person business events are also of great importance for the development of exports - business missions and forums, within the framework of which B2B negotiations take place with the aim of concluding export contracts.
This year in October the festival-fair “Made in Russia” will be held in Thailand. For local residents, this is an opportunity to get acquainted with Russian products, and for domestic companies - to present their products to a wide audience, reveal the potential of their product and strengthen their position in the market: build online and retail sales at the fairground, hold business meetings and negotiations with potential partners.
